Ahhhh Hump Day!

Happy Wednesday folks. Today spring finally peeked in and let us know it was on it's way. Today also marked the beginning of the work to clear the trees on The Land. Progress is a wonderful thing! With luck the old Lumberjack doing the work will move along at a good clip. We all went and watched him a bit at the later part of the day. He's a tree cutting, grinding madman. HA!
The Land I refer to is a parcel of several acres we acquired through the good graces of the Wife's old family friend. A wonderful elderly fella who sold us his land for an extremely affordable price whch we split 3 ways between the Wife and I, Sister in law and her hubby, and a cousin and his wife. The future plan is to build and move from the city to the country. So far, so good.
More news as events warrant.
The new Doctor Who series started over the pond in Britain.. bummer that we here were unable to enjoy it.
Seven Nations announced it's new website will be revealed in May along with a new CD. Along with the last Star Wars movie, May is shaping up to be a good month.
That's about it for this installment, tune in again next time when I'll type some more stuff.

Ahhh Sunday.

Beautiful day today.... sky threatened some more winter weather but nothing showed. I like snow but I've pretty much had enough for this winter season.
Attended a total of 3 birthday parties this weekend. The Wife's aunt had a 50th b-day, Pastor's wife was given a surprise 50th after services and after that we went to the Wife's god-child's 5th birthday. I'm all partied out at this point.
Watched the Incredibles DVD this weekend in between parties. I was re-impressed with the quality of this film. Great story, characters and animation. If this doesn't become a classic or benchmark I'll be disappointed.
If you let yourself get lost in the story it won't matter if the actors are flesh and blood or digitally created. If you haven't seen it go get it and watch.
The soundtrack is pretty keen too. A nice blend of sixties suave and hip coolness.
Guess that's all for tonite... catch you hep cats next time. Ciao.

Missed me?

Haven't been around the blog for a couple days. Did anyone notice I was missing? LOL
Anyway. I just posted a new pic of little old me. I like this one better.

Been busy. My friend Jeff and I are starting up a new website business... more correctly, HE is setting it up and I'm providing some graphics for stickers and decals we'll be selling. Check out It should be up and running in about a week.
Already we're trying to get the word out. Mention you found out about it here and I'll send you a free Sticker Shocked logo decal.

St. Patty's day is coming up in a couple days. Time to break out the Guinness and celebrate.

Well one of my fav bands, Seven Nations will be in Boston playing BC but it's a students only event. So the thought was to sign up for classes and get to go then drop out.. but after reviewing that plan it sounded stupid. Guess it's just sip a few Guinness and pop in a few CDs.

It's Friday!!

Been just about a week since the blog started and I already missed posting a day. In my defense, however, I did send an email to post and it never showed up. I'll have to look into that.
If you've been wondering about the title of the blog, or even if you haven't, here's the skinny on it.
When I was a lad my father would tell the story of his grandfather, that whenever he was asked how he was doing he would always begin with "Well, when I woke up this morning..." . So it was born that whenever someone's story was getting a tad long winded someone else would invariably say "When I woke up this morning."
We would all have a laugh.
It's an inside family joke but I'm also using it in memory of my folks who passed away in '97 and '99. Thanks for the laughs Mom and Dad.
Hope you all have a great day.

So here we are another day gone. Work was good. Kept me and the guys busy. Tonight's girl scouts so the Wife, Babes and the Mancub are there. The Mancub has to go since GS starts so dang early. He'll keep himself busy with pen and paper or his Gameboy. I've got some potatos and carrots boiling on the stove to go with the ham Wife cooked up in the slow cooker last night whilst we slumbered. Smelled good this morning.
Listening to some Yes on the record player. That's right I said record player. Got a good selection of vinyl so every so often I crank up the turntable and enjoy.
Typing this stuff sort of makes me feel like a radio DJ, you're not quite sure anyone's out there paying any attention.
Well I'm gonna sign off for a bit, maybe I'll post again later..depends if I have anything to say or if time permits.

Evening all!

Well the rain has changed to snow/ice mixture. The temp has dropped considerably, so the morning commute should be just a delight. Ah well winter in New England...gotta love it.
Just finished watching StarBlazers Series 1 part 3- Journey to Iscandar. I used to watch this show when I was a wee lad. It's fun watching it again all the way through but the eyes of an adult pick out so many plot inconsistancies. Probably just nitpicking on my part, I know. The show was brought over from Japan and edited and reworked for American kiddie some things were obviously lost in translation.
I just wish I knew why part way through the series the Gamilons (the bad guys) had their skin color changed to blue.Probably to mak ethem stand out from the crew of the Yamato better when they interacted.
Looking forward to watching the Comet Empire episodes as well. NetFlix rules!
I see from the comments my pal Bix dropped by and checked out my fledgling blog. Thanks Bix.
Well time to say g'night and head off for some reading. Trying to make my way through Robert Ludlum's The Aquitaine Progression as well as Hollywood Cartoons by Michael Barrier. Both are hefty tomes so I'll be working on them for some time.

Good Morning

Well another day dawns over the gray and drizzling sky of Massachusetts. Now that I'm up and showered and awake it's time to get ready for work. I work in the art compartment of a screenprinting shop. Multicolor Screen Printing or MSP as it will be referred to henceforth.
I work with 2 other guys, Bix and Seth, as we pass the day in our windowless world. Bix is the MSP veteran of the 3 of us. I come in second and Seth is the newbie, of sorts. A merry little band of graphic grunts if ever there were.
Since the Wife starts work waaayyy earlier than I it falls to me to get the kids ready for school. This usually consisits of me asking "Have you got everything together?" or "Is the cat fed?" or "Lunches made?" and other like queries. The kids are Babes, the girl, age 12. (Yikes she's almost a teenager!) and the Mancub, the boy if you couldn't guess, age 9. One of each so we stopped there.
So at this point they are pretty self sufficient for getting ready for school, for the most part. Any parent will tell you though that there are morning it's like a tug o' war to get them moving. If it weren't for some laws you'd like to poke them with a pointy stick to get them moving.
Anyway, time to wrap this up and finish getting myself together. I'll check in later if time permits.

testing testing

My Work desk

This is the desk I work at in the art compartment. No windows. Notice it's right next to the door. Guess where everyones dumps off orders and paperworks etc for the art guys?

Is that me?

Just trying out the photo. Got to find a better one no doubt, I look waaayyy too dang serious in that pic. I'm a pretty happy-go-lucky fella. Really.

Probably all the fiddling I'll do with the thing for tonite. Gonna go and check out some of my neighboring blogs.

Added some links

Ok Over to the riight there you'll find some links to sites I like to frequent. Feel free to check them out.

Testing the email factor

This little post is to test the emailing factor of my blog. Please move
along there's nothing to see here.

Everything needs a beginning

This is my first post for the Google Blogger.

I figure everyone and their brother has a blog so why shouldn't I? I can post thoughts and what not and be ignored by the world just as well as anyone else.

But since I'm just setting this up I won't go into too many details about myself right off the bat. Got to leave some mystery for future postings, don't I?
