Christmas E-Card

This is the finished image from a few posts ago that I used for the art departments e-card I send out each year to some of the customers we deal with. The sentiment was removed so you can get the full effect of the vector awesomeness. LOL.

Another Santa

Santa came out a little crooked looking this time out. Hope to get something else up before Christmas, but don't bet on it.
This is posted 4 minutes into Christmas Eve.

Let it snow...etc etc

Got some snow this weekend... Friday we got some nice powdery stuff and Saturday morn we snapped this pic of the sun casting shadows from the trees. That little birdfeeder has yet to feed birds.. guess they haven't found it yet.
Sunday we got a nice wet nor'easter blow through, dumping snow, sleet and rain... made moving the snow in the driveway a bugger.

A quick sketch and color of Mr. Snuffleupagus for the Sidekicks thread over on the Drawing Board. I've always liked Snuffy.. I guess now though everyone can finally see him instead of them thinking he was Bird's imaginary freind.

Halloween and SuperGirl

Submitting this for Illustration Friday-TRICK or TREAT... SuperGirl costume idea? Frank and the costume or...???

Maybe a stretch but until I got something better I'll go with this.

A SuperGirl sketch I did up.. her proportions are off a tad but I liked the overall pose and look. Didn't really try to redesign a costume but wanted to give her a more practical skirts and short shorts do not a heroine make.

A little Frank and Wolf sketch from last night. My son thought it was cool.

A little (?) beastie I sketched in pen on an envelope I had laying on my desk. If you're wondering.. he's puzzled by the lint he found in his bellybutton.

Illustration Friday-EXTREME

My EXTREME clown..sort of like Bingo from the Garfield comic strip.."HEEEYYYYY-EYYY KIIDSSS!!!"
Added a crappy little blurred water effect since he's supposed to be squirting you with his flower.
Ballpoint pen on copy paper colored with colored pencils. A quickie but that's all I'm capable of...
better than nothing though.

Nosferatu the vampyre

This creature is a little less sympathetic than the Frankenstein, he also has a ittle Mr. Burns in him apparently. I should have made him saying "Excellent." Anyway another Halloween themed pic.

Sketches and stuff

Posted this today over at the Drawing Board's Iron Fist Jam. Did it up quick with a ball point and copy paper. Good old Iron Fist... should've done Power Man too.

Posted this at the Atland Forum

My contribution to the Collaborative Comics Project. Took me forever to get this done. I know, I know it doesn't look it but I had the script part done then everything else had to wait. Life does that to ya.

This is part of the design for a local company that wanted a crazy forklift driver.. the shirt was one of those "I SURVIVED.." etc etc. This is the composite sketch since I drew the cartoony forklift first then added the driver on another sheet of paper.

Here's the art all inked with a brush pen. I hardly ever use a brush in NEVER but since my other pens were drying out I used what I had handy. Added the grays in photoshop and made the whole shebang a halftone. There's additional type on the design but I figured the art was good enough to show.

This post makes the 44th post for this year..I'm tied with 2006 and still have 3 months to add more.

Oh yeah I got stress... tons of it. Anyone want some?

Building a house. I was told it was a stressful undertaking. Ok. I anticipated some headaches... but not the %#$@^& amount of them I've had with this project. I'm telling you, it seems that MY house is the first house anyone of the yahoos that have worked on it have ever done.. EVER. From the foundation on up! I do mean EVERYONE!
I won't go into details..suffice to say it's been something, every....step....of ....the ....way.
Really there are only two guys in the whole project I'd ever use again. Mike Oliveira Flooring, did a fantastic, affordable, fast job of my hardwood floors. Five rooms worth. And the 2nd is Al Jeronymo the carpenter constructiong my front porch and back deck and stairs. Awesome work and pros, the both of them. If you live in the New Bedford Mass. area and need some carpentry or floors these guys.

P.I.A. Neighbors... every new house HAS to have one of these folks. We got our share. Complaints from the get go. Letters to the town from her lawyer. Even a No Trespass order served on us too. WTF!!!! What have I done to this woman. Nothing. Funny thing is she was at my wedding 16 years ago. There are tons of extra details to this whole sorted tale and I may write about them but I'm too damn pissed off to think straight.

Anyway.. I've been venting all night over this crap. I've never wanted harm to come to anyone..but after all this I have seriously altered that view. Where are the stray meteors that strike people down?

Sharing some comics

Rich's Comix Blog has a very cool Doctor Who comic going starring ALL of the good Doctor's incarnations. I encourage you to stop over and give it a look.

Rabbi Encounters is a strip I just found thanks to Bud Roger's Blog. I just read through the first 56 pages. I like it.. a lot and now I'm hooked. My favorite right now is the walking on the water sequence. Really, if I could do that, I would do just what Rob's character the Rabbi did. Check it out.

Drew Tuesday 8

A little early but it's been a while since I posted some stuff from the Mancub. Found theses scattered around and in his sketchbooks and figured it was time to post some more.
So here you go.

Crash of Drew's fav-o-rite characters to doodle and draw.

This is Drew as Ben 10. He's liked the cartoon for sometime now but since getting the Omnitrix for his birthday..well it's in overdrive.

Here's Gumby like you've never seen him before!

Sketches from this week

A few sketches done inbetween stuff other stuff at work. Shhhhhh.

First up is a couple I call Gordy and Earlina. Gordy's a good hearted lout who works as a truck driver but is out on disability for the summer. Earlina's parents wanted a boy but got her, she's named after her Dad. Sorta.

Here's an entry over at The Drawing Board's Indy Jam thread. I have to set it up at Photobucket but it'll be there tonite.

Here's some big nosed lothario trying to woo a pretty young thing. Doesn't look likes he's getting anywhere.

Since the Underdog movie is coming out this month I did another version of my take on the character. Protecting humanity from a meteor storm. Have no fear..etc. etc.
Did up the colors tonite in photoshop, a quickie coloring job I did while my son looked on. He thinks it's cool.

Another post for the Drawing Board site.

Drawing Board post

Going to post this over at the drawing board site in thier jam section. The theme is any character that uses DOCTOR in their name. Plenty of Doctor Who's over there.. and a few others more commonly known. Haven't seen any DR.TEETH so here he is.
Sketched it up quick while doodling at work here. Scanned it in and colored rough style in photoshop. Not too shabby for a quickie.

Sketchbook stuff

Sat down and sketched while watching TV last night. Here's the results.

Those vikings they love their donuts! Some Food Network show was showing how donuts are made. Then I had a flash of a viking. That's how the brain works sometimes.

Here's my version of my son's character Jak Rabbit leaping into action.

This is Drew's art, in color this time, of Jak Rabbit.

I picked up my son's FAVORITE stuffed dog, Brownie, and sketched him quick. That's a robe the dog is wearing with his beaded necklace my Babes made for him. This stuffed dog has been EVERYWHERE with my son since he was a little wee lad.

T-Shirt Designs

Here are a few t-shirt designs I've done up on the freelance work side of things.

The guys who wanted this play soccer (duh) but I guess they really like to throw 'em back too.. hence the tap and mug.

After doing the design for last year's Wood Bat Classic, I got asked to do this year's as well. I like how it came out.. but I think I might have done the penant different if given a chance to remake it. Maybe next year.

And here's last year's Wood Bat Classic design. Used more realistic bats in this one but it posed a printing problem for the screenprinter that did the job.

Another design for the folks in Williamstown. I probably need to pick a few new script/athletic fonts..there seems to be a thread running through these designs eh?

If anyone needs some freelance design done.. drop me an email. Really. I have a new house to pay for.

Drew's Sketchbook

Since there hasn't been a Drew Tuesday in nigh on a dog's age I figured I'd just turn it into a Drew's sketchbook...I have millions of his sketches to choose from. So many to pick from he could get his own blog..but not quite yet.
Anyway, here's some choice picks from his recent batch of works.

This is a jam piece my kids did together. Drew's is on the left, Meg's is on the right.

Spongebob as Ghost Rider.

Spidey and his Rouges Gallery if they lived in Bikini Bottom.

Jonny Q... a hunter of supernatural beasties.

Spider-Man and Spider-Kid swinging around town on patrol.
